worker dialogues
in spain

Last week, our training coordinator Reiko Enomoto embarked on a significant journey to the south of Spain, aiming to explore and understand the readiness of local farmers to implement our effective external grievance mechanism coupled with comprehensive worker training.

She was joined by Belinda Lagares, a passionate human rights lawyer with a deep commitment to organic agriculture, Rosa María Ojuelos, a social worker with profound insights into the daily lives of migrant workers, and Sonja Westphal, the founder and CEO of Sustify, a training platform for workers.

The micro-training platform, operational in 16 languages and usable even for illiterate workers, has proven to be extremely effective for training thousands of workers in the sectors, many of whom are migrants with low educational level. The migrant workers were able to perfectly understand the training content and could be trained on the topics of human rights, anti-discrimination, effective communication, conflict resolution and grievance mechanism.

The on-site intervention and dialogues will alow us to roll out and to adapt our training directly to the needs of the workers and contextualize it to the agricultural sector in Spain. Through our tailored approach, we can ensure that our training programs are effective and truly meet the needs of the sector.
